Pugilist Conjestina Achieng is set to return to full boxing in three months after undergoing a rehabilitation to correct her psychiatric condition

‘Conje’ who is making sturdy progress in her rehabilitation has cleared herself ‘fit again’ as she eyes a return to the ring she once ruled with an iron fist before she was diagnosed with a psychiatric condition.

“I’m glad to be back to reconnect with the boxing fraternity. I will be back in the ring hopefully in July and I intend to challenge for my former World Boxing Federation belt. I have a promoter and will start serious training very soon,” Conjestina said during the Saturday Fight Night after watching compatriot Fatuma Zarika overpowers Zambian Catherine Phiri on Saturday.

Zarika survived a furious assault from Phiri to successfully retain her World Boxing Council (WBC) women Super bantamweight title for good.

The Kenyan boxer got the better side of Phiri in the repeat match with a unanimous decision on Saturday.

Kenya Prisons boxing star and 2016 Olympian, Rayton Okwiri settled the fight with Tanzanian Pascal Bruno in the second round with a technical knockout.

Kenyan Joyce Atieno beat compatriot Sarah Achieng’ for the Super Lightweight title while Tanzanian Iddi Mkwera beat Kenyan Nicholas ‘Makaveli’ Mwangi for the Super lightweight title with a knockout in the second round.
