Kenya U-20 rugby team beat Tunisia 73-0 in an emphatic victory in the first match of the Africa Rugby Barthes Cup staged at the KCB Sports Club on Thursday.

Fly-half Dominic Coulson, Jeff Mutuku and substitute scrum half Barry Robinson all converted nine of the 11 tries for the hosts as Chipu battered the visiting Tunisian side.

Bildad Ogeta scored a hat-trick to steer Kenya to a perfect start on the day that also saw Jeff Okwach and George Maranga hit a brace each to help set a repeat final with Namibia on Sunday.

Namibia sailed past Senegal with a 45-12 win in the other match.

Coulson missed a conversation after captain Boniface Ochieng crossed the chalk with the hosts’ first try.

Coulson, however, hit the target for George Maranga’s two tries and with Ogeta’s took Kenya to a 26-0 lead at the break.

Five more tries after the break made things worse for the visitors as Chipu marched on.

Senegal and Tunisia will meet in the second and third place match.
