Euronuts successfully defended the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Central Region title and will join Barcelona on a trip to the national stage in June.

The ‘Nuts’ retained the boys’ title as Barcelona Ladies from Laikipia beat defending champions Limuru Starlets 2-1 to clinch the girls’ title.

Jane Njeri hit a brace as she won the Golden Boot Award with six goals in two matches after a successful outing at the Thika Sub County Stadium.

Ngonyo Florence scored a consolation goal for Limuru Starlets just before full time but could not salvage anything.

In the boy’s finals, Euronuts successfully defended their title against Lufa Graduates winning with a similar margin in regulation time. Lual Mengistu gave the Kiambu-based side an early lead in the 6th minute, setting pace for ‘nuts’.

George Ndungu netted the second goal at 35th minute to seal the win for the Euronuts.

Lorere Daniel brought Lufa Graduates back into the game at 65thminutes but it was too little too late for the Laikipia’s side who conceded a 2:1 defeat.

Barcelona and Euronuts received a cash reward of Sh200,000 each and will now represent Central region in the national finals scheduled for June 2019 at Kinoru Stadium, Meru County.
