Michael Rabar has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for the 2020 IAAF World Under-20 Championships’ Local Organising Committee (LOC).
The championship is set to be staged at the Kasarani Stadium between July 7 and 12.
The appointment of the former Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) director was confirmed by former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa in a Kenya Gazette notice dated March 1.
Echesa was relieved of his responsibilities by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a mini Cabinet reshuffle on Friday.
Rabar will be deputised by Mary Mwaki while Athletics Kenya president Jackson Tuwei will chair the Local LOC. AK Nairobi Branch chairman Barnaba Korir has been appointed Director of Ticket Operations and Knowledge Management.
Journalists Michael Okinyi is the Director for Media, Broadcasting and Communication and will be deputised by his boss at Sports Journalist Association of Kenya (SJAK), Chris Mbaisi who is also the Sports Editor-The Star.
