Ander Herrera could be on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of the season after being offered a lucrative £150,000-a-week deal to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spaniard whose contract expires at the end of the season was thought to have agreed a deal in principle to stay at Old Trafford but he has now made a dramatic U-turn after talks with the Ligue 1 champions.

With no transfer fee to pay, PSG are able to offer the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder a bumper pay package and he is expected to pen a three-year deal at the Parc des Princes.

The 29-year-old has impressed since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s return to the club and he was thought to be a key part of his plans.

Solskjaer could turn to PSG to find a replacement for the outgoing Herrera who signed for United for £29m five years ago and is thought to be keen on landing Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot has fallen out with PSG chiefs and is available on a free transfer.
