Super 8 Premier League defending champions Jericho All-Stars have sounded warning shots ahead of the season kick off this Saturday.

The Makadara-based club has intensified their preparation in an attempt to achieve what no other team has been able to do so far; successfully retain the Super 8 Premier League crown.

As per the fixtures released by organisers Extreme Sports, Jericho will begin their title defence against Meltah Kabiria FC at Camp Toyoyo Grounds in a 4:00 PM kick-off.

Jericho All-Stars experienced coach James Nandwa said he expects a ‘tough opposition’ but is optimistic for a strong start when the third season of the award-winning grassroot league gets underway.

“We want to maintain the same kind of energy we had last season. It is important we start strong against Meltah, we know defending the title will not be easy but we are ready to face our opponents,” the former Harambee Stars coach said.

Jericho secured a double last season that culminated in being crowned Super 8 Champions League winners hence having a rare opportunity of meeting Brazil legend Ronaldinho.

Jericho, who won the Premiership title with three games to spare will be hoping for a repeat of their last season heroics where they were empowered with over Sh500,000 from Extreme Sports as a reward for their talents.

Former champions Kawangware United open their campaign against new entrants Lebanon FC while TUK FC takes on Rongai All-Stars at Kabete Grounds on Sunday.

Debutants Githurai All-Stars, who won the 2018 Super 8 Division One League will be keen to begin life in the premier league on a high note when they tackle NYSA at Ruiru Stadium.
