Jesse Were has replaced Michal Olunga in the Harambee Stars squad set to face off with Ghana in the last game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on March 23.

Stars are set to face off with the Black Stars away in Accra, but Sebastien Migne will be without lead striker Olunga who sustained a hamstring injury.

The former Gor Mahia striker suffered the injury setback while turning out for his Japanese side, Kashiwa Reysol in a match against Albirex Niigata last week. Olunga scored the lone goal that propelled Reysol to third place in the Japanese Second Division League with nine points.

Coach Sebastian Migne has since called up Were, who is based in Zambia with Zesco United.

Were was left out from the provisional 24-man squad that is set to kick off residential training next week.

Kenya leads the three-team Group F with seven points, three more than second-placed Ghana, while Ethiopia remains bottom of the group with a single point.

After the qualifiers, Stars will then head to France for a two-week camp ahead of 2019 the Afcon finals to be staged in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
