Kenya will face off with Malaysia in the second match of the Quadrangular Netball Tournament at the Sugathagadasa Indoor Stadium in Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Kenya started the four-nation tournament with a victory against the host on Monday.

The national team, that is sponsored by the Sri Lanka government at the championship, beat their host; winning all the quarters 14-11, 28-21, 40-28 and 54-35 for a perfect start.

But the Kenyan women will face a confident Malaysian side that also began the champions with a 78-16 victory over Sri Lanka Junior team in Game 2.

Just like Sri Lanka, Malaysia are using the tournament as part of their preparations for the World Cup.

Kenya Netball Federation Secretary General Millicent Busolo has predicted a tough match in the remaining games, adding that the competition is so stiff.

“So competitive,” Busolo said of the level of competition adding that “…since both teams Sri Lanka and Malaysia qualified in the Asia region for world cup in Liverpool in July, 2019.  They are using the same championship to gauge themselves for World Cup.”
