Kenya junior soccer teams continue to fire blanks at the international stage with the U-15 team being the latest casualty after losing to Spain team 1-0 in the ongoing Mediterranean International Cup in Spain.

The U-15 squad kicked off their campaign with a narrow a defeat to Spanish side NT Terres de L’ebre Sud at the Llagostera Stadium on Wednesday.

Kenya will be looking to save the country’s face on Thursday in the remaining two matches against Junior CF and Eastern Football Club.

The tournament brings together top academies from Europe, including Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid which Kenya might meet if they go past the group stages.

Other teams that have performed badly at international stages are the U-17, who lost all the matches at an international tournament on Cairo, Egypt and the U-23 who was knocked out of the Olympic Qualifier.
