Gor Mahia made history, against all odds, to storm to the Caf Confederation Cup quarter-finals on Sunday despite playing the game with nine men.

Rwandan international Jacques Tuyisenge converted from the spot after Lawrence Juma was brought down inside the box by Petro Atletico defender and the K’Ogalo goal poacher wasted no chance from the 12-metre yard when he buried his shot in the far right corner for the single goal that proved the difference.

Gor Mahia who played with two men down after Ernest Wendo and Ugandan Shafik Batambuze were sent off, joined Group D leaders  Zamalek who played to a barren draw with Hussein Dey in the other match.

With the win, Gor Mahia are now assured of a cool Sh34 million from the Caf kitty.
