Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been put under specialised treatment ahead of United clash against Tottenham at Wembley next Sunday.

Pogba was left in Manchester as the Red Devils team flew to undergo treatment as the rest of the team flew to Dubai to prepare for Tottenham game in warm weather.

The 25-year-old was not part of United’s squad that beat Readings 2-0 at Old Trafford and was not among the players who boarded a flight to Dubai at Manchester Airport after the game.

However the team has downplayed the injury, describing it as a minor knock and that Pogba will join the team next week for training.

“Paul Pogba has not completely recovered from the knock he sustained against Newcastle and stayed back for treatment, but he will join his Manchester United team-mates in Dubai as soon as he is well,” read a statement from the club’s website.

The Frenchman completed the game in their 2-0 victory at St James’ Park on Wednesday, but was in pain after the game.

Pogba  sustained a bad knock after being challenged by Newcastle substitute Jonjo Shevley in what looked like a red card offence in replays.

The midfielder has been in impressive form and won the player of the month award for December, as voted for by fans, after registering four goals and four assists under new manager Ole Gunnar Solkjaer.

The squad travelled to Dubai after Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Reading at Old Trafford for a training camp ahead of the Reds’ next Premier League outing, against Tottenham Hotspur.
