Real Madrid have reignited their interest in Liverpool star Sadio Mane and are ready to launch a summer bid, according to reports in France.

The in-form forward has scored nine goals in his last nine games on his way to becoming Jurgen Klopp’s go-to guy for the run-in.

With Mohamed Salah going seven matches without scoring, the Senegalese team-mate has taken responsibility of Liverpool’s assault on the Premier League title and Champions League.

Real Madrid had shown interest in Mane as early as last year, but that those plans fell by the wayside when Zinedine Zidane resigned as manager at the end of May.

The 26-year-old was on target against Los Blancos in last season’s Champions League final defeat in Kiev.

Liverpool should worry more about Real Madrid wanting Mane than Salah

Mane is joint second in the Premier League top scorers with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane and Salah, with 17 goals.

Zidane is believed to have been promised a war chest of around £300million to reinvigorate the fortunes of Real.

It’s likely that he’ll be willing to delegate a large percentage of that budget to try and prise Mane away from Merseyside.
