Victor Wanyama scored his first EPL goal of the 2018/19 season in Tottenham’s 4-0 victory over Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Kenya skipper got Spurs ahead with a 20th minute goal before Lucas Moura scored the second in quick succession to complete a hat-trick later on.

Wanyama, who also played a key role in the Champions League victory over English rivals, Manchester City in the mid-week victory had struggled with injury for the better part of the first leg.

The goal will be a psychological boost for the Kenyan captain as he works on building his confidence ahead of the June Africa Cup of Nations.

Wanyama is expected to play a vital role for Stars, who will pitch a three week camp in France ahead of the biennial tournament in Cairo, Egypt from June 21 to July 19.

Kenya will kick off the Group C campaign against Algeria then Tanzania and then wind up the group stages with a clash against Senegal. Kenya is returning to the continental stage after missing the last seven editions.
