Ng’ando Youth Association (NYSA) will have to be at their very best to pick their first win when they host Makadara Junior League SA on Sunday 24 as the Super 8 Premier League season heads into the third round.
Both sides are yet to get victories after two opening games, and will both strive to get something out of the match.
The Sunday’s fixture to be staged at their Ngong Posta Grounds, is expected to be a juicy affair as both sides look to end their slow start.
NYSA who finished fourth last season have picked just one point from their 1-1 draw against Githurai All-Stars on the opening day followed by a 1-0 defeat to Shauri Moyo Sportiff last the weekend leaving them 12th on the log, just above their opponents on goal difference.
On paper, Makadara Junior are favourites having won this fixture both home and away last season with an identical 2-1 win result.
However, NYSA coach Fredrick Otieno says the visitors should expect a different ball game this time.
“This is a new season and we are approaching each game with a different mindset. What happened last season is behind us and we are ready for them this time, we are not taking them lightly but we have a plan,” Otieno said.
For Makadara Junior, it has not been a dream start either; losing their opening two games 1-0 and 1-2 to Sportiff and Githurai All-Stars respectively, but coach Charles Achima is optimistic for a positive outcome.
Elsewhere, newcomers Dagoretti Former Player FC host fellow rookies Huruma Kona hoping to get their first three points when both West Conference sides clash at Riruta BP Stadium.
Defending champions Jericho All-Stars will be away at Umeme Sports Grounds to follow up on their 3-2 win over MASA last time out.
Fresh from chalking their maiden win this season FC will be keen to replicate their performance when they take on debutants Lebanon FC at Ziwani Grounds.
