After parting ways with British coach Stewart Hall, Wazito have kicked out a host of players as they restructure for a new season.
SPORTS AFRICA can authoritatively reveal that Paul Acquah from Ghana, DR Congo’s Piscas Kirenge, Augustine Otu of Liberia and Togolese Issifou Bourahana are among those released.
Ghanaian Acquah played a vital role as Wazito won the 2018/19 National Super League to be promoted to the Kenyan Premier League. However, his performances deteriorated in the top tier and was reduced to a squad player.
Long serving goalkeeper Steve Njunge was also axed alongside compatriot Kevin Omondi who served as the first choice for the better part of the abandoned 2019/20 season.
Strikers Pistone Mutamba, Victor Ndinya and Derrick Otanga were not spared either with midfielder Teddy Osok completing the list.
The Moneybags struggled in the top tier and after 23 matches, they were placed in the 13th position with 20 points which came from four wins, eight draws and 11 loses.
