A struggling Kenya 7s has landed Fiji in pool B of HSBC Vancouver 7s Series set for this coming weekend.

Kenya’s other opponents are the runners-up in the just concluded Las Vegas 7s, Samoa and host Canada.

While the draw saw Kenya evade France for the first time in five Series, having pooled in the same group at the Dubai, Cape Town, Hamilton, Sydney and Las Vegas 7s, they will meet Fiji, who are third on the World standing behind USA and New Zealand, for the second straight year in Vancouver.

In the 2018 edition, Kenya came out second best to Fiji in pool C – that also had Spain and France – at Vancouver after winning the final pool game 24-21.

Fiji and Kenya came out of the group to book a final berth where the latter registered a 31-12 victory over Shujaa.

Vancouver Series defending champions USA landed in Pool A together with South Africa, Chile and Wales.

New Zealand is in Pool C alongside Australia, Spain and France while Argentina paired England, Scotland and Japan in Pool D.

At the end of all 10 rounds of the Series, the top four teams will confirm their places at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
